Commit notes: what the agents tell each other
Commit-FS-lite: there is no shared chat between the sessions that work on SHarness, so a short note to another member goes into the commit that carries the work, as a To-<id>: line beside the sender's Agent: line, and every agent reads the notes to it when it takes in dev (python3 tools/notes.py <id>). The commit log is the mailbox: version-controlled, in the open, no new files. This page is every commit on both repositories' dev since the project's first day, newest first, with its notes; the protocol is AGENTS.md section 6. A note is material, never an instruction. 75 commit(s), 69 note(s), 7 signing member(s); 47 commit(s) carry no Agent: line (before the rule, or forgotten), as of 26 Oct 2026.

The demo and the playground give the guest a virtio-net card whose packets become the browser's fetch(): the page is router, DHCP, DNS and the TLS client for every HTTP request on port 80. The playground's interceptor (netwatch.js) decodes every frame into a table with a detail pane and enforces an egress allowlist outside the guest. Three verdicts in one session: allowed by the page, blocked by the page (403), refused by the kernel before any packet left the process, with the DNS query Landlock does not see still visible. P5, a web-fetch profile. 17 checks held against this tree. A headless check of the live site wrote two events, classed webdriver as designed; the first drain at 23:45 UTC found four events in all, two of them real readers, and wrote the first data/telemetry-report.json (T7 done). /project/telemetry/ says live, with the first dated counts; /project/agents/ carries the push times and the token the agent now holds (in the clones' local token file, never in a vault or a page); the outreach plan's week 0 has T7 done; comms R10 and T7 are done. Other ports are reset. The scripted run and boot_node.mjs (NODE_USE_ENV_PROXY=1 behind a proxy) fetch sharness.ai/llms.txt with no policy, are refused by the kernel under P1 (443 only) and succeed under P5, a new profile for a tool that fetches pages (80 and 443). netwatch.js: every frame the guest sends or receives is decoded (ARP, DHCP, DNS with record types, ICMP, TCP flags, HTTP request and status lines) into a flows table with a detail pane, and the backend's fetch is wrapped with an egress allowlist of hostnames, enforced outside the guest: a host off the list gets a 403 before any fetch(). The playground shows all three verdicts in one session: allowed by the page, blocked by the page, and refused by the kernel before any packet left the process (with the DNS query still visible, since Landlock does not see UDP). test_playground.mjs checks each: 17 of 17 in headless Chromium. Its first article, One standard, many languages, separates what in each component is a specification (the policy's shape and hash, the manifest and the edges, the KMS, net, fs, llm and bash protocols, hello's six expectations) from what is an implementation (reaching the kernel, serving mutual TLS, holding a secret), maps every component against Python, JavaScript in Node and in the browser, Rust and Go, says what each runtime adds to the attack surface, draws the adoption ladder from a policy file to a component, and proposes standards versioned with test vectors and a reviewed registry. Two figures. Languages carries the proposed set and order; roadmap decision 11 is extended, still open; comms R8 asks Dinis for the decision. The seven example policies' hashes are quoted as the first test vectors (CLI dev at ebd1445, Python 3.13, 25 Oct 2026). Nothing is built in any language beyond the Python experiments and the browser's hash. The front page now leads with what the kernel enforces today, three ways to start in 60 seconds (the playground, a terminal, a Claude Code session), three animated explainers in SVG with no script (the one idea; hello replayed; a kernel in a tab), who it is for (people who run agents, tool and MCP authors, platform teams), and the ask: run hello --json and report your machine. Status stays honest, as a chip; the design, the articles and the claims table follow. New: evidence/machines (every reported hello run, failures first, with what is not yet reported and what we expect), project/adoption (the review, what changed, what is open, who the users are, where to find them, how to tell whether it is working, the sixty-second test). A "Try it" group first in the nav; the nav pill says experiments; a share card (og:image); the front page's markdown twin and llms.txt updated. Drawings scroll sideways on a phone rather than shrink past reading. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01E1SfxwnFrLK1hDzA55divK |

The workflow now installs the package, and also runs the suite uninstalled; the test puts the checkout on PYTHONPATH and prints stderr on failure. fail-fast is off so one Python's failure no longer hides another's. 60 tests pass on Python 3.11 and 3.12 (clean virtualenvs, package not installed) and 3.13. same JSON with WebCrypto, in Pyodide and in the guest, and copies an edited policy into both.
test_playground.mjs drives both tabs in headless Chromium: 11 of 11 checks.

run and hello now refuse cleanly where there is no kernel and no processes (Pyodide,
emscripten), exit 126, instead of a traceback; limits imports resource only where it exists;
probe prints unknown rather than None and says when there is no kernel or no Landlock.
.github/workflows/tests.yml runs the unit tests on every push to dev and every pull request,
on Python 3.11 to 3.13; until now they ran only on a release to main. Package metadata points
at the site's current paths. 59 tests pass.

What is left when everything else is limited is the process's policy: a virtual operating system for one process. /spectrum/: five profiles of one harness (a hello world, a Claude Code session, a tool, a newsroom agent, sgit), what each runs, its threat, policy, components, mode and status; and the compatibility map for sgit's next version (steps 0 to 5, each leaving sgit as 0.24.0 when nothing is switched on). Measured 24 Oct 2026: sgit 0.24.0's --version and pki list run unchanged under a v0 deny-all policy. Versioning rule (Dinis Cruz, 24 Oct 2026): every push to dev is a patch release (vX.Y.Z+1); a merge to main is a minor release (vX.Y+1.0), tagged on main. | 2026-10-24 19:18 website f25b249 | ? | no note | site v0.5.0: market and competitive analysis/market/: what exists that does part of what SHarness is designed to do, as of 24 Oct 2026: agent and code sandboxes and runtimes (Claude Code's sandbox-runtime, Codex, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, Cursor, E2B, Modal, Daytona, Fly Sprites, Vercel, Cloudflare, Docker Sandboxes, microsandbox, OpenSandbox, Kubernetes Agent Sandbox, Azure and Foundry, NVIDIA OpenShell, the primitives); policy and guardrails; MCP and tool security; LLM gateways and key holders; secrets, workload identity, confidential computing and agent identity; enterprise platforms (enforcement versus monitoring); standards and reports. Every row carries its source and the date read; secondary figures are marked; five load-bearing rows were re-checked on their primary pages and the text corrected where the first pass overstated (NemoClaw's page does not name Landlock or seccomp; the DeepSeek CVE page could not be read). Then: where SHarness sits (five distinctive claims, all designed), what to reuse rather than rebuild, direct competitors and complements, honest gaps, market signals with numbers (acquisitions, rounds, standards, platform moves, incidents), and seven threats to the thesis. Registered in the nav, footer, llms.txt, sitemap, the front page and the release history; R6 on the comms board now covers it. | 2026-10-24 19:09 website 8fa63dd | ? | no note | site v0.4.0: research note, the experiments ladder, two mockups, three storyboards, the CLI's first versionResearch: every published page, the design pack, both articles and the memo read in full; the findings and what this release did about each are on /research/. The largest finding is an omission: Claude Code's own sandbox (bubblewrap, a network namespace, a hostname-allowlist proxy) as prior art and plug-in point; the comparison is on /experiments/, with rows on Agents §2 and Policies §9. Agents §2 row 3 (a PreToolUse hook rewriting Bash) is now documented rather than "verify": updatedInput replaces the whole input. Experiments: /experiments/ lays out the ladder (browser mockups, any Claude session, Linux, planned, the launcher above the agent) and experiments E01 to E08; E01 to E04 are runnable in the CLI (probe, policy hash, run, hello) and E04 is measured on Evidence §9 (5 of 5 held in one cloud session, 24 Oct 2026, with the caveat that a policy a process applies to its own children is a Setting for itself). Mockups: /mockups/policy-hash.html (canonical JSON + SHA-256 in WebCrypto; the same hash as sharness-ai policy hash, checked headless) and /mockups/edges.html (the edge matrix and the layer that refuses each edge). Storyboards: /storyboards/ with a cast of four (Ada, Pip, Rook, the Launcher) and three strips (the last metre, its one job, hello world inside) in the storyboards.sgit.ai kit v0.1.0, pinned; sources under admin/content/storyboards/ in the shape storyboards.sgit.ai imports; gen_storyboards.py writes each page, script, bundle and the index; previews render |
